What is Botox®?
Botox® is a specific brand name of a naturally derived, purified protein that is used to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles. This results in a smoother and naturally rejuvenated appearance. It has been used in the cosmetic industry for over 20 years, in over 70 countries, and has fast become one of the UK’s most popular cosmetic treatments.
Am I suitable for Botox®?
This treatment can be used on a wide range of patients to reduce lines and wrinkles, for skin rejuvenation and to help reduce underarm sweating. You should disclose any existing medical conditions at the initial consultation such as any neuromuscular disorder (Myasthenia Gravis). Treatment is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.
Does it hurt?
This treatment is largely pain-free aside from mild discomfort associated with the small needle at injection sites.
How many sessions will I need?
Results last between 3-6 months depending on the individual. Results last longer for underarm anti-sweating treatment at 6-9 months. You will have a review appointment at 2 weeks to assess results and ensure you are completely happy. If a top-up is required at this stage, it will be completed free of charge.
